Regional Centers for Healthy Communities:
Regional Centers for Healthy Communities (RCHCs)
replaced the Massachusetts Prevention Centers as of July 1, 2002.

RCHC Mission:
"Our mission is to provide capacity building services and resources in support of healthier communities."

The RCHCs are staffed with experts who support and promote leadership development in Community Health Network Areas (CHNA) To get more information on CHNAs including contacts and the towns included in each CHNA, please go to: http://www.state.ma.us/dph/ohc/config.htm. The primary goal of the RCHC's is to encourage leaders at local and regional levels to ensure a comprehensive, inclusive vision and plan for the health of all people.

The RCHCs provide training and technical support, and they facilitate a process for community partners across the region to work together with a focus on science-based substance abuse practices and environmental strategies.

Each RCHC has a resource library that provides, free of charge, loans of current and culturally appropriate resources including:

  • Videos
  • Curricula
  • Books
  • Health Data
  • Many of these materials are available in languages other than English
